Yongting Wang, PhD — Head, Protein Biochemistry and Neuroscience

Dr. Wang is a Professor of Neuroscience in the School of Biomedical Engineering and the Med-X Research Institute at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. Her group investigates the mechanism of injury and repair after ischemic stroke with a focus on intercellular signaling and microenvironment modification using chemokines and growth factors through gene therapy or engineered stem cells. Her work is reported in more than 90 primary research articles, reviews, and book chapters. Dr. Wang received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Society of Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism and also the policy advisor of the International Society on Aging and Disease. Dr. Wang serves as a consultant of Elevian in the areas of protein engineering and neuroscience to develop therapeutics for ischemic stroke and other age-related CNS diseases.
